The day started on something of a stressful note. I had been having furious fights with my mother about the stupidest things. They were just arguments over my appearance; she always wanted me to wear the most casual outfits while I just wanted to look nice… but every conversation we had kept ending the same way – me yelling to her that I hated her and everything she stood for. She would just cry and agree with me.

I was tired of those fights by the time I set out. I walked slowly to the campus bus stop; I probably looked somewhat miserable. But my appearance changed the moment I saw the man ahead of me at the bus stop.
