Cars which are powered by solar energy are called solar-powered cars or solar cars. These cars have many similarities to regular cars. They have motor, steering wheel, seats and brakes. Solar cars use solar cells on it's surface to produce electricity, making the motor turn and turns the wheels.
There are many advantages of Solar-powered cars, unlike regular cars, these cars are able to utilize full power at any speed. They don't require any expense on the run, plus, they are very quiet and make no pollution at all.
Despite all the advantages, Solar cars have some drawbacks, such as their speed and power is usually lower than regular cars. They can only operate in a limited distance if there is no or very little sunlight. They are also very expensive, while a decent car of this kind costs from 200,000 dollars and above.
In conclusion, while solar cars shows a lot of advantages and the ability to produce no pollutions, their capability of operating is limited and depends on the sunlight. While the performance is incomparable to regular cars, solar cars are also expensive, this is why solar cars are not popular at the moment.
