As the need for higher and higher education arose, gifted schools were created, with the goal of "training high-quality human resources". This method has proven to be effective and with many advantages, even if there are several disadvantages to consider. 

 With all of its advantages, it is an obvious choice for parents to push their child towards getting a chance of studying in those schools, creating psychological pressure for them. And in the case when they get in, they still have to carry on their shoulders the expectation of their parents to do well. It was not just the expectation, it was also a fact, if they could somehow get in without being good at studying, they would still, potentially eventually drop out. Students who cheated or used relations to get inside are also subjected to the same conditions. Not having enough skill to understand lessons and being isolated because of getting in not through their own skill. And when they drop out, the damage is already done, their confidence is already gone. Another disadvantage is the way most students study for gifted school examinations. Gradually, students in specialized schools and classes choose to become skewed in their knowledge as a high score of the subject they specialize in is the best way to pass the entrance exam, creating many students who maybe are good at math, physics but when asked about other subjects, fail to answer even the most basic of questions.  

However, there are many advantages of gifted schools to consider. Firstly, there is a difference in infrastructure. As gifted schools usually have way better funding than an average school, their infrastructure is also usually superior to those of a normal school. And their teachers are also more experienced and well equipped. Leading to a better ability to depart knowledge. Also, learning in a gifted school gives you more opportunities as you can get into higher colleges with less effort than a normal school counterpart. Also, as schools are one of the best ways to make friends, gifted schools are not an exception, even, they give you better friends as the people who get into gifted schools are smarter and have a better chance at success in life, potentially earning you friends in high places.

In conclusion, I think gifted schools are a very specific way of studying with their own pros and cons.
