Tet is a special occasion when every family member gathers to celebrate the start of a new year. Tet is mostly held at the end of January and beginning of February. People usually prepare special food, clean, decorate the house and spend time with family and friends. People visit relatives’ house on the first day of the new year and give lucky money to children or the elderly. The traditional dishes eaten include: banh chung, banh day and pickled onions. I love this period of time so much and look forward to it every year.
