On August 18, 1973; a group of friends including Erin, Kemper, Morgan, Andy and Pepper; they are all on their way back to America after their trip from Mexico. Now they were passing by Travis County, Texas, suddenly they saw a girl with a tired gait. The group of friends thought that she needed to hitchhike, so they invited her to get into the car, but as the car drove, the girl took her gun and committed suicide right on the car. The group of friends was very panicked over this case, they had to go to the butcher shop of the woman named Luda Mae Hewitt to borrow the phone to call the police. When she heard that the shop owner and her children both said that the police station was right behind a nearby forest, Erin and Kemper went together to find the sheriff, leaving the other three at the butcher shop.
They went through the forest, but they still could not see the police station, only a large house. Erin went in there to ask about the handicapped owner Monty Hewitt about calling the police again, but while she was on the phone, Kemper was killed by the murderer Leatherface. Erin went out and found Kemper anywhere, she was alone again with her friends. She didn't know that while she and Kemper were gone, the sheriff came to take the girl's body, he was Charlie Hewitt, the crazy old man impersonating a cop. Erin returned and told his friend about Kemper's disappearance just now.
Erin and Andy sneaked into the Hewitt family home to find out if Kemper was in it, unfortunately being chased by the name Leatherface with a chainsaw. Because Erin ran so fast, he escaped, and Andy was cut off by Leatherface with his left leg, then Leatherface carried Andy down to the basement. Erin hurriedly ran to her friends, she demanded to leave this place as if to be clothed by those friends. Charlie Hewitt appeared, he took Morgan home. With only Erin and Pepper left, they got on the motorbike and tried to run away when Leatherface ran out to kill Pepper.

Erin was chased by Leatherface in the forest, ironically, she fainted halfway. When she woke up to find herself lying in the Hewitt family home, she only now realized that everyone she had just met were members of this family. Erin was thrown into the basement by Leatherface, she saw Morgan and led him out through a secret tunnel. Leatherface chased after the saw and used the saw to stab Morgan.

Erin continued to run away into the forest, she ran into an abandoned meat factory. She tricked Leatherface into running in and then took a large knife to cut off his right arm. Erin rushed out of the factory, leaving Leatherface bleeding to death. She ran to the Hewitt family home, robbed Charlie Hewitt's police car and crashed him to death, and she ran out of Texas. The special thing is that Erin brought a 2-year-old boy that the Hewitt family stole from the victims they murdered, she saved the baby because she did not want him to become the second murderer in the Hewitt family. . Suddenly, Leatherface appeared on the road and attacked the car. But he was too slow and Erin managed to escape successfully.
