Christmas several holidays held in a year. It occurs on 24 and 25th December but it starts from the beginning of the month. During Christmas, people are more friendly and gentle with each other because they believe to have a happier life without sorrow. I enjoy decorating Christmas trees and walking around the streets looking at the buildings and the trees around the city such as in squares and parks, shops and offices. There is always a big tree at the city’s center, in which people gather and pray together on Christmas night.

All the city is decorated with color and lights; therefore, it is a chance for citizens to go out, take many beautiful photos and transfer to each other. We take part in several interesting activities like creating snowmen, playing in snow, making homemade candy or cake, cleaning houses. The snow is a symbol of Christmas. To me, it is a symbol of renewal and cleanliness of the upcoming event. Besides, the children enjoy receiving presents, which are put at the tree by Santa Clause. They believe he brings obedient kid joy, good health and hope for a new year.

Actually, the gifts are prepared by parents or relatives in order to encourage them to study and well behave with others. The tradition of giving presents originates from the old days and it has become one of features of the Christmas holiday. Christmas reinforces the belief of one’s soul and heals all sadness and dissatisfaction. In my opinion, it is essential to continue this holiday because of its beneficial role in the culture of one country.

Christmas is a very important festival especially for the Christians however it is celebrated by the people of other religions also across the world. It is an ancient festival which is celebrated for years in winter season. It falls every year on 25th of December. It is celebrated on the birth anniversary of the Jesus Christ. There is an old tradition of distributing gifts by Santa Claus at midnight on Christmas to every child. It is believed that Santa comes to every house in the night and gives gifts to the children. Children eagerly wait for Santa to fulfill their wish. They also write their wish, keep in socks and hang it outside hoping Santa will fulfill their wish. There is also a tradition of giving gifts like sweets, chocolates, greeting cards, Christmas trees, decorative items etc to the family members, friends, relatives and neighbours. People start Christmas preparations well in advance with great enthusiasm and joy. Everyone enjoys Christmas holidays by singing, dancing, partying and meeting with each other. People celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with great faith and joy. People distribute gifts on the occasion to spread happiness as Christmas is also called as the Feast of Happiness.
