Hai Ba Trung – two heroines
“Mrs Trung was born in Chau Phong,
Angry at the greedy, hateful husband does not forget.
Sisters carry a curse,

As Vietnamese people, we must have all heard the reputation of Madame Trung mentioned in the verse. Hai Ba Trung is two indomitable and courageous heroines in the history of our country's resistance war against foreign invaders.
I learned the story of Hai Ba Trung. The two women are biological sisters, the older sister's name is Trung Trac, the younger's name is Trung Nhi. Two women from Me Linh district, since childhood, have been famous for being two talented daughters. Her father died early, thanks to her mother's teaching, both sisters are good at martial arts.
At that time, our country was colonized by the Han Dynasty. They oppress the good people very brutally. They directly slaughtered our people, robbed all of their lands. Our people carry sky-high resentment, just waiting for the opportunity to rise to fight the invaders. Trung Trac's husband, Thi Sach, also has the will to take back the river. The enemy general To Dinh knew this, so he plotted to kill Thi Sach.
Receiving bad news, Hai Ba Trung immediately pulled troops to Luy Lau citadel to question the enemy. Hai Ba Trung, wearing splendid armor, stepped on the majestic elephant rim. The mighty army set out. Spears, bows and crossbows, axes, hammers, and wooden shields billowed with the shadow of the two women's hidden elephants. Wherever we went, the sound of our army's bronze drums filled the earth with gold. In the end, the enemy's stronghold fell one by one under the insurgent army. The enemy general was scared, held his head, and ran back to the country. Our country is clean of enemies.
Hai Ba Trung became the first two heroes against foreign invaders in the history of our country. To commemorate the merits of the two women, our people have built a temple to worship Hai Ba Trung. Every year, every spring, the Me Linh area is bustling with gongs and drums to welcome the festival. The two women are indeed brave, heroic, and admirable generals.

Hai Bà Trưng - hai nữ anh hùng
“Bà Trưng quê ở Châu Phong,

Phất cờ nương tử thay quyền tướng quân.”
Là người Việt Nam, chắc hẳn chúng ta đều đã từng nghe danh tiếng Bà Trưng được nhắc đến trong câu thơ. Hai Bà Trưng là hai nữ anh hùng bất khuất, dũng cảm trong lịch sử kháng chiến chống giặc ngoại xâm của nước ta.
Tôi được biết câu chuyện Hai Bà Trưng. Hai bà là chị em ruột, chị tên là Trưng Trắc, em là Trưng Nhị. Hai bà người huyện Mê Linh từ nhỏ đã nổi tiếng là hai người con gái tài sắc vẹn toàn. Cha mất sớm, nhờ mẹ dạy dỗ nên hai chị em đều giỏi võ nghệ.
Lúc bấy giờ, nước ta bị nhà Hán đô hộ. Chúng đàn áp dân lành rất dã man. Chúng trực tiếp tàn sát đồng bào ta, cướp hết ruộng đất. Nhân dân ta mang trong mình nỗi uất hận ngút trời, chỉ chờ thời cơ vùng lên đánh giặc ngoại xâm. Chồng của Trưng Trắc là Thi Sách cũng có ý muốn lấy lại non sông. Tướng giặc Tô Định biết chuyện này nên lập mưu giết Thi Sách.
Nhận được tin dữ, Hai Bà Trưng lập tức kéo quân đến thành Luy Lâu để tra hỏi tình địch. Hai Bà Trưng mặc áo giáp lộng lẫy bước trên vành voi uy nghi. Đoàn quân hùng hậu lên đường. Giáo, cung và nỏ, rìu, búa và khiên gỗ cuồn cuộn dưới bóng hai con voi ẩn náu của phụ nữ. Đi đến đâu tiếng trống đồng của quân ta vang rền trời đất. Cuối cùng, thành lũy của địch lần lượt thất thủ dưới tay nghĩa quân. Tướng giặc sợ hãi, ôm đầu chạy về nước. Đất nước ta sạch bóng quân thù.
Hai Bà Trưng trở thành hai vị anh hùng chống giặc ngoại xâm đầu tiên trong lịch sử nước ta. Để tưởng nhớ công lao của hai Bà, nhân dân ta đã lập đền thờ Hai Bà Trưng. Năm nào cũng vậy, cứ mỗi độ xuân về, vùng Mê Linh lại rộn ràng tiếng chiêng, tiếng trống đón trẩy hội. Hai bà quả là những vị tướng dũng cảm, anh hùng, đáng khâm phục.

Hai Ba led our army to fight bravely but because of that the enemy was too strong and weak, Hai Ba jumped into the Hat Giang river to die. Our people were again engulfed in the oppression of the Northern enemy. Even so, the glorious example of Hai Ba Trung is still shining brightly.
