Mid-Autumn festival, which is held on the Fifteenth day of August in the Lunar, is the festival of children. This is the time that the moon is the roundest and brightest in the year. This festival is associated with the legend of Cuoi with banyan tree and the story of Moon goddess.

In Vietnam, there are many traditional activities for both adults and children during the festival. On the occasion of the festival, parents buy their children masks, star lanterns, toy figurines and drums. Besides, adults prepare the food in order to celebrate Full-moon Festival. The food include Moon-cakes, candies, sugar-canes, grapefruits and many other fruits. The time when the moon is the highest in the sky, children will dance and sing, watch and admire the Moon, and eat Moon-cake and fruits. Children also celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with traditional 5-pointed star shaped lantern along the streets. In somewhere, people hold the lion dance activites performed by both trained professional groups and amateurs.

With the exciting activites of Mid-Autumn Festival, it proves that this is not only the festival of children but also Tet holiday members.

Mid-Autumn Festival night, my village becomes so beautiful. Night covers everything. In the sky, the moon shines down on everything. The children in the neighborhood eagerly went to pick up the lanterns. At seven o'clock in the evening, my sister and I went to the cultural house to watch the lion dance performed by the youth union members. Colorful unicorns dance around to the beat of drums. Each child has a star lantern, or a mask. The atmosphere was lively and fun. We all enjoyed the breaking part the most. Come on fruit, candy, drinks are really attractive. I feel very good and happy.
