The Mong ethnic group has over 558,000 people. The Mong ethnic group is concentrated in the highland areas of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Yen Bai, Lai Chau, Son La, Cao Bang, and Nghe An provinces. Hmong's custom is the traditional New Year of the Mong people held in December of the solar calendar. During the 3 days of Tet, they do not eat green vegetables. Young men and women who are happy in spring often blow the trumpet to call you.

The Bahnar are a Vietnamese ethnic group that predominantly live in the Central Highland provinces of Gia Lai and Kon Turn, as well as the coastal provinces of Binh Inh and Phu Yen. They speak a language related to the Mon-Khmer family.
