   trong thì HTHT since chỉ 1 mốc thời gian

   nhưng trong các trường hợp khác, since có thể mang nghĩa = because 

though: mặc dù

while 

   thường nếu có while bạn sẽ dùng 2 thì song song (ví dụ như cả 2 vế đều là QKTD hoặc HTTD)

   nhưng while cũng có thể chỉ 1 hđ cắt ngang hđ còn lại (1 vế dùng QKĐ, 1 vế dùng QKTD)
