I.Put the verbs into the past perfect

1. They went home after they (finish) had finished their work.( Verb theo quy tắc)

2. She said that she (already, see) had already seen Dr. Rice. ( Verb bất quy tắc, see-> seen)

3. When we came to the stadium, the match (already, begin) had already begun. ( Verb bất quy tắc begin -> begun)

4. They told me they (not, eat) hadn't eaten such kind of food before. ( Verb bất quy tắc eat -> eaten)

5. He asked why we (come) had come so early. ( Verb bất quy tắc come -> come)

6. After they (go) had gone, I sat down and rested.( Verb bất quy tắc go -> gone)

7. Before she watched TV, she (do) had done her homework. ( do -> done)

8. It was the first time I (ever, see) had ever seen such a beautiful girl. ( see-> seen)

9. We (move) had moved To BMT City by 1990. ( verb theo quy tắc)

10. By the time we got there, the play (start) had started already. ( verb theo quy tắc)

11. Before going to bed, the man (turn) had turned off all the lights. ( verb theo quy tắc)

12. A stranger (wait) had waited for him when he came back home yesterday. ( verb theo quy tắc)

IV. Rewrite the following sentences without changing the meaning

1. David had gone home before we arrived. → After David had gone home, we arrived

2. We had lunch then we took a look around the shops. → Before we took a look around the shops, we  had lunch before we took a look around the shops. 

3. The light had gone out before we got out of the office. → When we got out of the office, the light had gone out.

4. After she had explained everything clearly, we started our work. → By the time we started our work, she had explained everything clearly.

5. My father had watered all the plants in the garden by the time my mother came home. → Before my mother came home, my father had watered all the plants in the garden
