1. Respect

⇒Usually, there is a great amount of teamwork. In conflicts, I always thrive for respecting my colleagues and accept their opinions. Same when I need to give feedback: I try to give criticism in a friendly and constructive way, showing that I respect the other person, and just have a different opinion or approach about certain things.

2. Critical thinking

⇒I don’t like to simply listen to my guts when an important decision is being made. I prefer to look at the problem from many different angles like what are we really trying to achieve or to do a benchmark on the available information. I also consider various (long-term) implications and scenarios for the results. That’s how I can make myself and my team prepared for any possibility!

3. Patience

⇒I’m a really patient person when it comes to dealing with people. I know that we are all different and have very distinctive characteristics with different views to approach things. During the onboarding period of a new colleague, for example, I have no problem with explaining something even 100 times, if it helps my colleague to do their work efficiently.

2. What characteristics do you most admire in other people? Why?

Usually, people may admire a celebrity or a well-known businessman/woman. But for me, I’d like to talk about Gwen who is my girlfriend. I have known her since high school but not until our sophomore year in university that we started dating and she is definitely one of a few people that I admire a lot.

I adore her not only for her appearance but also for her intelligence and the way she thinks of life…Well actually I admired her look first, the other parts kicked in when I got to know her more deeply.

I still remember the first time we got to know each other was during our class reunion in Paris. I don’t know if it was because of Paris or not but it was magical, I think that was the first time I blushed seeing a girl. The conversation started in a formal manner but ended up being just like an intimate chat between close friends because we shared so many common things in our interests and background. She struck me with her thoughtfulness and a bright smile.

She’s not only a beautiful girl but also a logical and intelligent person. She always sees things from multiple perspectives and never assumes or judges anybody or anything. She’s also very diligent. As a matter of fact, she’s already paying for her sister's tuition fee and provide for herself conveniently. That is why I admire her as a person so much.

We are in a distant relationship now and because of the different time zone, we can’t talk frequently but I’m trying to get close to her as soon as possible.
