The Obon festival usually takes place in three days in Japan whether it is now held in a day with both dancing, food, relaxation and memorial.

The festival is divided into two external parts and inside the temple. On the outside, there is a large center that organizes traditional dance and drums that are surrounded by food stalls and seats for anhydrate. The Pagoda volunteers guide visit and talk about religion during the reception of performances

The organizers said the most important thing in the Oban ceremony was a dance called Bon Odori. This is a folk dance to welcome too long souls. Sahome Tachibana was the choreographer for this year and did so in New York as well as Oregon for the past 66 years. She noted about great development in helping Obon in the United States.

"I think the festival is more and more popular in the United States than in Japan because people don't go to the temple regularly in Japan. It's like a festival here and more people. " Tachibana said.

Bon Odori Festival was held for the first time in San Francisco in 1931 and had greatly expanded. Oregon Temple was founded in 1090 and according to Shinshu Buddhist Schools.
