1. Phong said "My parents are very proud of my good marks"

⇒Phong said that his parents were very proud of his good marks.

⇒My parents chuyển thành his parents do ba mẹ của Phong, ở đây đang là thì present simple lùi thành past simple nên are thành were, my thành his do my good marks ở đây là của Phong.

2.She said, "She doesn't buy this book".

⇒She said that she didn't buy that book.

⇒Ở đây đang dùng thì present simple nên lùi thành past simple, this chuyển thành that.

3.He said, "I will go to school by bus tomorrow".

⇒He said that he would go to school by bus the following day.

⇒Dùng would cho model verb will, tomorrow chuyển thành the following day và I thành he.

4.She said, "I went to visit my brother last Sunday".

⇒She said that she had gone to visit her brother the previous Sunday.

⇒Chuyển I thành she, ở đây đang là past simple chuyển thành past perfect, my thành her, last sunday thành previous sunday.

5.He said, "My brother and I are leaving here".

⇒He said that his brother and he were leaving there.

⇒My chuyển thành his, I thành him và ở đây đang là hiện tại đơn nên lùi sang quá khứ đơn, here thành there.
