The Sydney Opera House in Australia is one of the great iconic buildings of the 20th century. It is famous for music concerts and theatre peformances in the six separate venues inside. It is the home of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Opera Australia. It is one of the bussiet performing arts centres in the world - around 2 million people attend over 1,500 performances a year ! Famous singers and pop stars who have performed there include Norah Jones and Ella Fitzgerald.

The Sydney Opera House is an opera house and iconic building on the shores of Sydney Harbour, in Sydney, Australia. It is shaped like the sails of a boat. Many concerts and events take place there, with 2000 performances a year presented by Opera Australia, Australia's national opera company. It is a famous tourist attraction. 

Sydney Opera House has 5 theatres, 5 rehearsal studios, 2 main halls, 4 restaurants, 6 bars and some souvenir shops. The building's interior consists of pink granite quarried in Tarana, New South Wales, and timber and plywood sourced from New South Wales. Theaters are shaped like a series of scallops represented by being cut into hemispheres. The concert hall and the musical theater are located in the two largest groups of shells, the other theaters are located in the other shell groups. Several smaller groups of shells are used to house restaurants. 5 theaters make up the place of performance:
- The 2679-seat concert hall is home to the world's largest mechanical organ with over 10,000 flutes.
- Opera House with 1507 seats is the main performance of Opera Australia. This is also used by the Australian Ballet Company.
- The theater has 544 seats.
- Theater (playhouse) has 398 seats
- The studio theater has 364 seats.
