Our solar system, located at around 27000 light-years from the galactic center, consists of eight planets orbiting the Sun. Additionally, the solar system contains many moons, comets, asteroids, dust, and gas. Separated into two parts, the outer and inner solar system, the latter we are currently in. It contains the Sun, Mercury, Venus, our planet Earth, and Mars. The central asteroid belt lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, acting as a barrier to divide the two parts of the solar system. Outside of all the inner circle planets and the belt is the outer ring. It consists of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and though only a dwarf star now, Pluto is still a star worthy of notice.

Everything in the solar system orbits or revolves around the Sun. This is because the Sun contains around 98% of all materials in the system. With this insane mass, the sun has enough gravitational pull to keep all other stars, planets, and moons to orbit itself. 

While seemingly ordinary, our solar system has several unique or rare quirks. Mainly, the orbit of the stars and planets. The orbits of major planets in our system are virtually circular and the distance between the four giants and the Sun is considerable.

In conclusion, I think our solar system, our home, is a very awesome place and I feel lucky to live on a habitable planet, near enough to not be cold and far enough to not be hot. Habitable enough for us, humans as a species to thrive.
