The best way to reduce your trash is to simply reduce the amount of stuff that you buy. If you don't know what to get rid of, start by getting rid of the stuff that you don't need. It's easier than you think! After that, look at the things that are still in your home or office and ask yourself if they are still useful. If not, then get rid of them too! When something breaks or needs replacing, try finding a way to fix it instead of buying a new one. This can be as simple as taking apart an old toy and using its parts for a new craft project. You might also be able to find someone who's looking for this type of thing on Craigslist or Freecycle just be sure not to add it to the landfill! Finally, but most importantly, recycle everything else! Recycling is one of the easiest ways for everyone to help reduce their trash output  from separating plastic from paper from metal from glass jars and bottles  there are many different things that can be recycled into new products instead of going straight into landfills.
