Nowadays, mobile phone seems to be an indispensable part of our life because of its significant benefits and almost everyone has one for their own, young children are not exception. However, regardless of any purpose, is allowing kids to use mobile phone too soon a sound action? Not few people undoubtedly agree to this idea but the others including me have the opposite opinion. From my viewpoint, cell phone does children more harm than good. First and foremost, it is obvious that they can distract kids’ attention. For instance, numerous games on mobile phone are so attractive that children can’t help sticking their eyes on the screen. Additionally, constant messages let them can’t keep stay focused, they just pay almost all their attention to reply those texts instead of keeping an eye on what they have to do with schoolwork or housework. Second, perhaps it is considered as an effective tool to help children cheat on exams. Young generation relies heavily on modern technology, whenever taking an exam, they don’t strain every nerve to find out the correct answer but simply “google” it. Because of small size of smart-phones, students can bring them along into the exam room without being detected by supervisors. Then they can surf internet or text friends to ask for help. Third, cell phones are able to cause some serious health problems such as insomnia or even cancer. If you put cell phone next to you when you are sleeping, you will be startled by its sudden ring tone or vibration. Many times like that will make it hard for you to fall asleep again, sleepless status also puts you under strain. Besides, according to some recent surveys, if you contact with mobile phone too much you will be more likely to suffer from brain cancer. Finally, they have a negative effect on children’s writing skill. The reason is that when they send message too much, they surely use many symbols, abbreviations, specific codes. Consequently, it’s easy for them to forget how to use grammar structures as well as new words in the right way. All in all, basing on many negative influences above, I venture to say that if we want our kids develop in a better environment, we shouldn’t allow they to approach hi-tech equipment like mobile phone.
