Water pollution is caused by industrial factories, people throw rubbish into rivers, lakes, ponds, streams, ... and untreated wastes. When water is polluted, it will affect people in the surrounding area very seriously, especially those who use water of rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, etc. They will not have clean water for living, and can cause epidemics because harmful bacteria in contaminated water come from human or animal domestic waste that can cause cholera, skin cancer, typhoid and polio. a number of measures have been taken to reduce water pollution such as: Propaganda for the people, arrest of factories discharging waste into rivers.

Hiện nay có một hiện tượng ô nhiễm môi trường rất là nghiêm trọng và được nói rất nhiều trên báo trí, tin tức nhưng vẫn chưa khắc phục được. Như mọi người cũng biết: Ô nhiễm nước là hiện tượng các vùng nước như sông, hồ, biển, nước ngầm... bị các hoạt động của môi trường tự nhiên và con người làm nhiễm các chất độc hại như chất có trong thuốc bảo vệ thực vật, chất thải công nghiệp chưa được xử lý,..
Hiện tượng ô nhiễm nước là do các nhà máy công nghiệp, người dân hay vứt rác xuống sông, hồ, ao, suối,... và các chất thải chưa được xử lí. Khi nước bị ô nhiễm sẽ ảnh hưởng rất nghiêm trọng đến người dân ở khu vực xung quanh, nhất là những người sinh hoạt bằng nước của sông, suối, ao, hồ,..Họ sẽ không có nước sạch để sinh hoạt, và có thể gây ra dịch bệnh vì Vi khuẩn có hại trong nước bị ô nhiễm có từ chất thải sinh hoạt của con người, động vật có thể gây ra bệnh tả,ung thư da, thương hàn và bại liệt.May mắn là nhà nước đã có một số biện pháp để có thể làm giảm đi hiện tượng ô nhiễm nước như: Tuyên truyền cho người dân, bắt giữ các nhà máy thải các chất thải xuống sông
