In Vietnam, an ancient country with thousands of special customs and practices that not all countries have. First of all, it is the custom to bring the apple to heaven. This is a very old custom and also very popular with our people on Tet. Not only that, but on the occasion of Tet we will also have a custom that is wrapping banh chung, banh tet. In addition, Vietnam also has the custom of visiting ancestors' graves and burying the land, which are very popular and circulated. Tại Việt Nam, đất nước cổ kính với bao ngàn những phong tục tập quán đặc biệt mà không phải đất nước nào cũng có. Đầu tiên phải kể đến đó chính là phong tục đưa ông táo về trời. Đây là một phong tục rất lâu đời và cũng rất phổ biến đối với nhân dân ta vào dịp Tết. Không chỉ có vậy, mà vào dịp Tết chúng ta sẽ còn có một phong tục đó là gói bánh chưng, bánh tét. Ngoài ra, Việt Nam còn có phong tục thăm mộ tổ tiên và xông đất, đều là những phong tục rất được lưu truyền và phổ biến. The Tet takes place from the first day of the first month of the Lunar calendar (around late January or early February) for at least three days. It is a joyful family reunion full of smiles and blessings to express the filial piety, the family bonds and the desire for a coming year full of happiness, prosperity and goodness. As you can see, Vietnam is not only a country with beautiful beaches, majestic mountains and delicious gastronomy. Throughout Vietnam’s rich and long history, what features prominently is the entire country’s effort to preserve the national identity and the fascinating cultural heritage which has been passed down from generation to generation, obtaining as a result, a sublime fusion between traditional and contemporary values. Nevertheless, although Vietnam is very proud of its traditions, its people have at the same time one of the most liberal mindsets in Asia. But this is another topic that we will broach soon!
