The flood started in the middle of the night. I can still hear the loud thundering rain and strong winds that woke me up. My family and I stayed in our house as long as we could but eventually, we had to evacuate because all of the water was rising up and reaching our doorsteps. We were lucky to have been brought to safety on a rescue boat by kindhearted volunteers who gave us food, water, and shelter. After the storm was over, my family and I had no choice but to leave our home behind because everything was destroyed. We are currently staying at a refugee camp that was prepared for all of us victims. It is good that we are safe and dry here but I wish we could return home soon so my family can get back to our normal lives once again.
