Giong Festival is a traditional festival to remember and fight songs of the hero Saint Giong, one of the four immortals of Vietnamese folk beliefs. The festival vividly simulates the battles of Saint Giong and the people of Van Lang in the war against An, thereby raising public awareness of ancient fighting styles; at the same time educating patriotism, upper class arena, rebellious strength and aspiration for independence and freedom of the nation. Giong Festival is held in many places in the Northern Delta, but the most typical is the Giong Festival in Phu Dong and Soc Soc (Hanoi).
