A major issue that will affect cities in the future is global warming. With the amount of people living in cities increasing, the amount of pollution will also rise. Pollution is one of the main causes of global warming, so if nothing is done to reduce it, we can expect to see more extreme weather conditions and rising sea levels. This means that more coastal cities could be at risk from flooding and storms. Cities will have to try and reduce pollution so that they can prevent this from happening.
Another problem that will affect cities in the future is overpopulation. As cities become more popular places to live and work, there is less space for everyone who lives there and it becomes overcrowded. As well as this, overpopulation causes a lot of social problems such as crime because there are fewer resources available for everyone which can make people desperate to get what they want.
This is why it’s important for cities to develop new technologies that will allow them to cope with these problems in the future.
