To be fully independent, children need to develop those skills so as not to struggle to lead their own life:

- Work skill: teens need to know how to complete a job application. Some teenagers also have a part-time job to experience new things and prepare for the responsibilities of the future career.

- Transportation skill: they need to learn how to get from point A to point B. It's important for them to know how to use public transportation.

- Financial skill: this is probably the most crucial skill that a teen needs to develop. They should be taught how to handle money or they'll found themselves in debt in no time.

- Time management skills: they can spend time on valueless things such as using social networks, chatting with friends, playing video games,... which has adverse effects on them.
