-I know some people are high school sweethearts, which is always the cutest things ever, but the thing is that’s such a rare occurrence. Almost everyone who dates in high school break up during or shortly after their time at high school.

-It often detracts from a balanced high school experience because a lot of time and effort is spent on the significant other, possibly leading to distancing from friends or school work. When they look back at high school, they find far too many memories that involve their ex which might not be exactly what one wants to remember.

-Also, people change when they go to college and often any relationships that manage to last past graduation can’t handle the long distance with someone they feel wasn’t the person they started dating.

-Dating in high school can often be something someone does just because it’s “cool” to have a girlfriend/boyfriend, as cliche as that sounds. People fail to see and truly evaluate the chemistry behind it.

-My rule of thumb is, date with the ultimate intention or belief in getting married (or spending the rest of your life with this person if you don’t want to get married), and the feeling I get from most high school relationships isn’t
