Space travel is reaching the universe beyond the atmosphere of the earth. We can use the information gained from these travels to increase knowledge and benefit humanity. By doing so, we can identify habitable planets, locating non - renewable resources, and drive technological progress. Consider that someday our planet is hit by an enormous planet, we can travel to a planet that we had discovered through our travels. In recent technology, we had developed unmanned spacecraft, such as the Stardust, enabling deeper space exploration that manned missions are currently out of reach. Unlike manned missions, unmanned space exploration missions do not require human life support systems, allowing for more equipment, sensors, and fuel to be fitted, so greater scope and potential for discovery.
