Lao Hac is a short story by writer Nam Cao written in 1943. The work is considered as one of the typical short stories of the realistic literary line, the content of the story has partly reflected the current state of society. Vietnam in the period before the August Revolution. The story is about Lao Hac, a simple and gentle farmer. The old man was widowed and had a son, but because he was too poor, he could not give his son a happy married life. His son therefore left his homeland to go to a rubber plantation to earn money. He was always thinking about his son's future. He lived by gardening, the garden his wife worked so hard to buy and leave to his son. Compared to other people at that time, his family background was quite adequate, but due to lack of strength, farming work was also temporary. There are no jobs hired by others. Then one day, he decided to find death to be freed after many months of extreme hardship and suffering. And after giving all his possessions and asking for a funeral story later on to the teacher, Lao Hac ended his life. End your life with a dose of dog bait. The old man's death is painful and violent, causing readers a lot of emotion and grief. Once day, her granny was very thirsty, she called Tich Chu but he wasn't at home. He was playing with friends. His granny was so thirsty that she became a bird. She flew to find water. After coming back home. Tich Chu couldn't find his granny. He realized that his granny had become a bird. And he needed to find magic water for her. He accepted to do everything so that the bird could become his granny again. After overcoming all the difficult and dangerous things on the way of searching for magic water, Tich Chu was able to bring magic water to the bird. The bird drank water and became his granny again. Tich Chu promised to his granny that a better grandchild to make granny happy. They lived happily since then.
