Tet is the biggest festival in the country. This is an opportunity for all Vietnamese to have a good time thinking about the last year and the next year. On the occasion of Tet, the spring fair is held, the streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are packed with shoppers for Tet. At home, everything is cleaned, special food is cooked, food, soft drinks, flowers, and betel nuts are made on the family altar with burning sticks of wood emitting air. The first step was taken when the lucky guest arrived and the children received the lucky money wrapped in a small red envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children are well behaved and friends, relatives, and neighbors give each other the best wishes for the new year.
