1. One day a very clever teacher went to a small village in the country.

2. He was talking to the people there when an old man spoke to him: 'I have a question for you. If you can't answer my question, you give me ten pounds. Then you ask me a question. If I can't answer it, I give you two pounds.' 

3. The teacher was happy with the old man's idea because he was very clever. 

4. "What is your question?' the teacher asked. 

5. "What animal has got three heads, two wings and one leg?" the old man asked. 

6. The teacher thought for a long time, but he didn't know the answer.

7. After 30 minutes thinking, he gave the old man his ten pounds and said, 'I'm sorry. I don't know the answer. What is it?"

8. The old man said, 'l don't know either. Here are your two pounds!"
