TOPIC: POLLUTION

Good morning/afternoon everyone!

Today, I would like to share with you about pollution.

As we all know, pollution has become the most commonly used word in our everyday life. And it has also become the most concerning issue facing with the world nowadays.

Of all kinds of pollution, air, water and land pollution are among the serious ones. Now I’d like to go into detail with each of these pollutions respectively.

Firstly, air pollution. Since the development of industrialization, the air has been severely contaminated. People pollute the air with such air pollutants as carbon footprint, toxic gases from industries and vehicles. As a result, there has been a great effect on plantations, health and life, for instance, decreasing the enjoyment of living, rising medical costs, causes global warming and also causes the destruction of the ozone layer.

Secondly, water pollution. The main causes of water contamination are industrial wastes and other waste products can be defined as water pollution. Water pollution has made the issue of fresh water for people become more and more boiling. Many poor people are running out of healthy water for their daily activities.

Lastly, land pollution. The major causes of land pollution are construction, domestic waste, industrial waste and agriculture. Biodiversity is negatively impacted as trees are cut down for crop and buildings, which harms the natural habitats of many species. Herbicides, pesticides, artificial fertilizers and animal manure washed into the pollute it.

We can all see that pollution is now affecting tremendously on our lives. The Earth might die unless we act now to save the environment.

Now I would like to end the talk by one sentence: “We are the guests of the Earth not its masters!”
