The Mid-Autumn Festival picked up a lamp to meet you last year. Mom bought me a butterfly lantern. In the evening of the full moon in August, when I heard the frog drumming in the alley, I quickly took a lantern and joined the tiny army to the wide lawn of the neighbor and gathered in a circle around the yard. After the announcement from the sister in charge, we lined up in a long line around the neighborhood, headed by two dragons. Where the light procession lights go, the drum sound goes up there, making the neighbors bustle like a big festival. Picking up the lights for a while, we went back to the grass to prepare the deck. The performance was equally as fun as the procession of the lamp. We eat candy, fruit, and perform the arts. When the moon was up, we left.
Every spring, my village organizes a buffalo fighting festival. In the village, the two largest and strongest male buffaloes will be selected to participate in the competition. Until the day, in the empty field at the beginning of the village, the match took place under the expectations of the villagers. A large circle fenced by bamboo slats is erected, people will stand around it. From the two sides of the door, two buffaloes stared at each other, their noses panting, their feet constantly scratching the ground. As soon as the hand holding the rope released, the two buffaloes rushed towards each other. They bumped heads, shoved shoulders, jumped on top of each other. After struggling for a while, they decided to have a duel by ramming each other and trying to knock them down. In the end, after much hardship and bloodshed, the close victory belonged to the buffalo with a chipped corner of his horn.
The match was both exciting and thrilling, making viewers extremely satisfied. After the match, the two buffaloes were brought home to rest and take care of, not slaughtered. This change makes the festival even more meaningful.
