Hung King Temple Festival is held in commemoration of Kinh Duong Vuong, who became Vietnam’s first king. While the main worship event takes place at the Hung Temple, which is perched atop Nghia Linh Mountain in Phu Tho Province, 100 lanterns are released into the sky on the eve of the festival. The next morning, a flower ceremony is held at Den Thuong, where the Hung Kings used to worship deities during their reign. Lastly, a huge procession starts at the foot of the mountain, consisting of pilgrims, xoan classical song performances, and ca tru classical operas at several temples along the way towards the main Hung Temple.

Every year, thousands of tourists from all over the world come to participate in the national festival-Hung Temple Festival.
  Hung Temple Festival is a fairly popular festival in Vietnam, held on the 8th to 11th day of the third lunar month, on this day, people often perform ceremonies and burn incense to worship the Hung Kings. Hung Temple Festival is held a lot in Phu Tho. During the Hung Temple festival, there are many folk games such as bamboo swing, rice blowing contest, ... Banh chung, banh day are also prepared to recall the legend of Lang Lieu. (The story of the 18th Hung King who invented banh chung and banh day) However, some people will stay at home and enjoy their vacation. In addition, if the weekend is close to Tet, many families or groups of friends choose to go on a short trip to recharge the battery.
  Hung Temple Festival is one of the important and sacred festivals of the Vietnamese nation. As the day people remember the Hung Kings, I like this festival very much because it is very meaningful.
