In the treasure of Vietnamese literature, there are many types of books and stories, and fictional genres is one of my favorite. In fictional genres, there are lots of books and stories, but Diary of a Cricket (Dế Mèn phiêu lưu kí) is my favorite book. The reason why I like this book is because of it content, the way how the awthor writes the book, named the characters makes it become more interesting. The character that I love best is the Cricket. I love all the characters in the book and don't hate anyone because every character has an own personality, no one look exactly the same with the other. I like the story because To Hoai got the animals to describe people, faithfully describe a cricket's life or also our lives => help readers can see themselves in the story.

Between 1966 and 1996, he was chairman of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association. Writer Hoang Quoc Hai says: “During field trips to the northwestern region, writer To Hoai noted down everything he saw and heard and lived with the locals. He even described the sounds of birds in the woods, in the plain and in cages. He often read his writings to us. Everything he did was very detailed.
