Một trong những hiện tượng nóng bỏng nhận được sự quan tâm của toàn dư luận, xã hội hiện nay chính là hiện tượng lũ lụt đang hoành hành mạnh bạo ở miền Trung nước ta và gây ra nhiều thiệt hại về người và của. Gần một tháng nay, nước dâng cao ở nhiều tỉnh thành như: Thừa Thiên Huế, Quảng Nam, Quảng Bình,… ngập đến tận mái nhà. Nhiều nhà cửa ở các vùng trũng thấp bị cuốn trôi. Động vật và hoa màu bị tàn phá nặng nề và trôi theo dòng lũ không còn lại gì, nhiều lương thực tích trữ cũng bị hư hại. Người dân mất hết tài sản, rơi vào hoàn cảnh khốn cùng phải ngồi trên nóc nhà đợi người đến cứu trợ. Một thực trạng đau lòng hơn nữa đó chính là có nhiều người đã thiệt mạng vì bão lũ, trong đó có sản phụ đi đẻ và mười ba cán bộ chiến sĩ làm nhiệm vụ tại nơi đây. Hậu quả của bão lũ mà ai cũng có thể nhìn thấy chính là đời sống người dân bị tàn phá nặng nề gây thiệt hại lớn về người và của: nhà cửa bị cuốn trôi, người dân rơi vào cảnh khốn cùng “tiến thoái lưỡng nan” bị mắc kẹt ở vùng lũ không di chuyển được. Tài sản mà họ gây dựng cả đời bị hủy hoại hoàn toàn. Môi trường sinh thái cũng bị phá hủy nghiêm trọng do nước lũ. Chính vì vậy, người dân cần phải lạc quan hơn nữa để vượt qua giai đoạn này đồng thời chúng ta cũng cần tương trợ lẫn nhau để những mảnh đời bớt khó khăn hơn đúng với tinh thần “Tương thân tương ái” của dân tộc.
