Elephant racing festival is one of the important festivals in the system of traditional festivals of the highland people in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. It is held in the spring, more specifically the 3rd lunar month at Don village or in forests near the Sevepoi River in Dak Lak province. It has a good meaning to pray for the beginning of a new, high-yielding crop that brings prosperity to the villagers here. The chosen racetrack is usually a strip of land that is flat enough for 5-10 elephants to stretch horizontally to compete in groups. After the signal, there was a prison time, and the elephants rushed forward to the enthusiastic cheers of many tourists and people in the area with the sound of gongs and drums urging. After the race, the whole village gathers at the community house to have a feast, drink can wine and dance in the festival atmosphere with the sound of gongs.
