It appeals to me since it is fantastic. They developed their own works of art, mostly older and 2D Disney films, in my opinion. They made a reputation for themselves in the business by developing a distinct style, which is not simple to do. Mulan was their most recent major smash, and Moana in 3D might be next (that movie is also touching and good, although I do not consider it at the level of previous 2D movies). The Aristocats, The Rescuers, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Mulan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Moana are among my favorite classics. I'm also aware that Disney isn't the only animation influence, and that other companies have produced stunning films (such as Quest for Camelot, The Swan Princess, Balto, Anastasia...), but they've always been at the top.

Disney received 59 Academy Award nominations and won 22 of them. Both of these numbers are individual records.[164] He was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards but did not win, though he received two Special Achievement Awards for Bambi (1942) and The Living Desert (1953), along with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.[165 ] He also received four Emmy Award nominations, and won once in the category of Best Producer for the Disneyland television series.[166] The Library of Congress has included some of his films in the National Film Registry because they are "historically, culturally, and aesthetically significant". Films included include: Steamboat Willie, The Three Little Pigs, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Pinocchio, Bambi, Dumbo and Mary Poppins.[167] In 1998, the American Film Institute published a list of the 100 best American films with a rating of industry experts. That list includes Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (at number 49), and Fantasia (at number 58).[168]

In February 1960, Disney was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame with two stars, one for the film and one for the television show.[169] Redeem Mickey received a separate star for the movie in 1978.[170] Disney was also inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1986,[171] the California Hall of Fame in December 2006,[172] and was the first recipient of a star on the Anaheim Avenue of Stars in 2014. .[173]

The Walt Disney Family Museum records that Disney "along with its employees received more than 950 titles and titles from around the world".[17] France made him a Chevalier (knight) of the Légion d'honneur (Honorary Legion) in 1935.[174] In 1952, Disney was awarded the Officer d'Academie by France, the country's highest artistic medal.[175] Other national awards include the Order of the Crown of Thailand (1960), the Order of German Merit (1956), the Order of the Southern Cross of Brazil (1941) and the Order of the Mexican Aztec Eagle (1943).[176] ] In the United States, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom on September 14, 1964[177] and posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal on May 24, 1968.[178] In addition, he also received the World Voting Award from the National Association of Cinema Owners.[176] In 1955, the National Audubon Society posthumously awarded Disney the highest honor, the Abudon Medal, for his contribution to "raising awareness and understanding of the natural environment" through the film True-Life Adventures. [179] In 1980, astronomer Lyudmila Karachkina discovered a minor planet and named it 4017 Disneya.[180] Disney has also been awarded honorary degrees by Harvard University, Yale University, the University of Southern California, and the University of California, Los Angeles.[17]
