Friendship is a sacred feeling that everyone needs. In my opinion, we should choose our friends who have many good qualities, in which the most important quality is reliability. There are several characteristics I look for in a friend. A friend should give support and security. A friend should also be fun to be around. Friends can have faults, like anyone else, and sometimes it is hard to overlook them. But a friend can’t be dropped because he or she has faults. A friend should stick by you, even in bad times. There is a saying that “a friend in need is a friend indeed.” I believe this means that there are good friends and fair-weather friends. We should not require the talents of a friend. Friendship is honest with people and yourself. The different type is not a true friend. He or she is a kind of person who runs when there is trouble. Cheating has always been a part of life, and it will be so in the future. Friends you choose must be reliable. Friends don’t always last a lifetime. Someone you believed to be your best friend may lose touch with you if you move to a different area or go around with a different group of people. A friend should be generous and understanding. A friend does not have to be exactly like you. Sometimes friends are opposites, but they still like each other and get along. Since I am a very quiet person, I can’t say that I have many friends. But these are the characteristics I believe a friend should have. To summary, reliability is a characteristic I want most in a friend. By the confidence, the friendship will remain with us and never leave if we preserve and cherish it with our own feelings.
