The Bru are originally a relatively developed agricultural population, in the past they focused on living in central Laos, after the turbulence of centuries-old history, they had to migrate to places. Some go northwest to Thailand, some go east along the western areas of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue in Vietnam. When they came to Vietnam, they built a village around Van Kieu mountain (Vien Kieu mountain), later the Vietnamese took the name of the mountain and gave it to a total of Bru people, and from there they were also called Bru - Van Kieu

Khmer people has a population of about 1,260,600 people. They mostly live in provinces of Mekong Delta. Their language is Mon-Khmer group and the writing system.

They grow rice, raise cattle and poultry, make sugar for living.
